Chapter 29

And just like that.....

I am another year older.

Highlights of 28:

~a few Kansas City trips

~got divorced

~took a little trip to Nashville

~went to Disney World 

~signed with 2 new agencies

~started an apprenticeship

~moved 4 times

~sold/threw away over half my possessions

~went to San Francisco

~fell in love

~went with my love to NY for the weekend

~started a style blog

...just to name a few.

It has been a VERY busy year. The LORD has been doing amazing things and has proven Himself faithful over and over again. I feel like the first part of 28, the Lord was showing me that HE was faithful and gracious. As I enter into the next chapter, the Lord is in the process of showing me that HE is a Redeemer. I love what the LORD has done in this past year and I cannot wait to see what HE has in store for this next year. I am looking forward to:

~another trip to San Fran

~hanging out with Bailey

~trip with my love to Idaho

~Kansas City for Thanksgiving

~a surprise trip overseas with my love

~a few important weddings

~a big move

~lots and lots of adventures.

24 days till my BIRTHDAY!!!!

Bailey

It is Bailey's birthday. I cannot believe that 3 years ago today, I was in the most excruciating pain of my life, which, after a mere 23 hours, ended with a 20lb weight loss and a blonde haired, blue eyed little girl. I love this kid more than I can express as I know all of you parents out there can understand. Here is a list of some of the ridiculous things she has said recently:

-"I like brown boys; mommy likes white boys"


-"I want to be a tomato when I grow up or a helicopter like my uncle Nate" (she means a chiropractor)


-"Because I am white" (after asking her why she is so cute)


-"Momma, I like your butt and your toes" (?)


-"That sounds dangerous" (after telling her that she will be flying back from Kansas City with her mimi and grandma)


-"But I have to because it's my birthday!" (after telling her that I don't want her to grow up or get bigger)

worst birthday :(

I cannot help but think about the worst birthday I have ever had.
Sixth grade. Raytown Middle School. Party was at noon at Coleman park. I believe it was a Saturday.
Worst birthday ever. I had invited what I remember to be about 30+ people. I invited all the popular kids. How many showed up? Four. Four people showed up to my birthday.  To make it worse, there were some people, who told me they couldn't come due to previously booked events, at the park playing WHILE my party was happening. Brian Roberts and Aaron Job. No. I did not forget your names.  Nor will I. I remember Christina Sambursky being there. I think my cousin was there but she had to because she was family and one more... I think it was....I don't remember.
I was included in the four.
So, this memory, as much as I try to get rid of it, still haunts me. My birthday party looked nothing like the one above. As much as I am excited about tomorrow and entering a new chapter, I can't help but shed a tear in remembrance for the 6th grade birthday party. I hope you never have a birthday like the one I had. I have never had a birthday like the one above but maybe someday.

Chapter 27 is about over

It is almost that time. I think September has gone by way too fast. I have one more day to be 27. For that I am thankful. I have gone thru more as a 27 year old than any other age. Things I have done as a 27 year old:

-gone through a year of dental hygiene school

-raised a 2 year old

-failed out of dental hygiene school

-started 2 new jobs

-perfected my eyebrows

-learned how to cook really well

-gone to KC twice

-gone through the process of divorce

-got rid of television

-left a church

-got a new church family :)

-re-did my apt like 20 times

-acquired some great characters for the story

Just to name a few things. I can't wait to be 28. 

Chapter 27 is coming to a close with Chapter 28 looking very promising!!
